Whole30 Week 1 Results

My name is Zayda Cortez, and I am a sugar addict.

Yup, I never realized this until I began my Whole 30 challenge.

In case you don’t know what the Whole 30 challenge is read this .

I heard about it in passing, and after feeling tired for a while and just not that great I decided to give it a go! So I bought the book last Sunday, March 5th and began Monday morning!

Now it’s been a week of a lot of discipline and discoveries and I want to share it all with you!

So how did I feel?

The first day, Monday, I cried.
Tuesday, I cried.
Wednesday was a lot better, but Thursday I was back to… you guessed it CRYING.

I just honestly felt so stressed. My back was so tight that I could feel a million knots on it. I was grumpy and moody and took it out on my boyfriend. I even had people at work ask what was wrong.

Realizations

I realized that I turn to sugar when I am stressed. I’m not an overeater, but I do LOVE to drink my sweets. From my iced coffee, my sugar free Snapple, diet Hanson cokes, smoothies, wine and margaritas. I just turn to it all as treats and/or stress relievers.

Luckily come Friday, I finally started to feel like me again.

The Whole 30 challenge has helped me turn to exercise instead of sugar as a way to cope with my stress. I also feel a lot healthier as in my body CRAVES movement and believe it or not saying NO to the bad foods is not that hard.

You can do it TOO

If you are anything like me, having nothing at all is easier than having to decide how much. All week at work we had food and deserts delivered and unlike before where I’ve had to really THINK about how much to have, it felt like less of a chore to just say NO.

The most difficult part of this has been the social aspect. For example, I’ve avoided several social gatherings just this week alone, because I find it easier to not even go to the restaurant or bar than having to dodge the temptation. I don’t think this is ok long term, but for the time being it is worth it.

Results so far

I’ve lost 5 lbs so far, and I feel really great! 🙂
My skin looks better (although not perfect) and my face less round (I have a really really round face LOL).

I plan on updating you every week, and once I complete the 30 days I will make a video!

Have you done the Whole 30 challenge before? If you’ve wanted to try it before, but always felt like you did not have the discipline or support to do it, start NOW! Trust me, you can do it! I am the most undisciplined person ever when it comes to this type-a-stuff, but I’m managing and would love to help you. SO YEAH, DO IT WITH ME!

      HAHAH Thanks my boo!!!! I bought these leggings when I was w you, funny enough. I admire how you eat clean everyday! It’s your permanent lifestyle and that is my ultimate goal. LOVE YOU!
