Happy day! It is currently Saturday, and I’m all bundled up at home enjoying a cup of coffee, staring at my Christmas tree and listening to my favorite podcasts! It’s extremely gloomy out today, so it works.
Do you listen to any podcasts?
If not, this post is me officially encouraging you to! 🙂
Like I told you in my last post, my commute home from work was a good (or dreaded) two hours, but I actually didn’t mind it so much, because I discovered the world of podcasting.
(Panoply please hire me.)
I’m happy to tell ya which ones are my favorite.
Ok so first of all to listen to these:
iPhone users: head to the preinstalled app called “Podcasts” in your phone. It’s a purple icon.
Android users: I believe you can search these recommendations via the Soundcloud app.
Now let’s get to it. I have four to go over.
Man oh man, let me start with Being Boss.
A dream of mine is to someday have my own business. What kind? I’m not sure. When? Definitely not sure. But I do think that the modern day woman is more than capable of making this aspiration a reality.
What I love about this podcast is that Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson bring in a frank and realistic expectation of what it’s like to be a boss. They share inspirational stories, the highs and lows, and tools to help your mindset and business grow.
If you have even a tiny bit of entrepreneurial curiosity in your body, check out this podcast.
The Budget-Minded Traveler
I started listening to this podcast in the summer. The name is catchy as heck. I mean most of us want to travel, but don’t have the money to.
Or so we think…
Jackie Nourse makes it clear from the beginning, if you want to travel, you will find a way, and you do not have to have a lot of money or even a companion. I really enjoy this message, because many of us often make excuses for ourselves.
Note to self: Stop going to Starbucks everyday, and in a year you will afford that trip basically. haha
Nourse inspired me to take my solo trip to Paris this year. Something I really needed to do for myself, so it’s safe to say that I discovered her at the perfect time.
Now I won’t butter this up too much. Sometimes, I do get annoyed if I listen to it for too long, so I pick and choose what sounds interesting to me. I’m just being honest *Future voice* hahha.
But overall, I love her message, and she does share tips to help your travel dreams become a reality.
I recommend it to those yearning to travel. You can listen to it here.
Ok so tbh, I only started listening to this podcast less than a week ago. #GirlBoss Radio is hosted by Sophia Amoruso, the CEO of Nasty Gal.
I really didn’t think I would like it so much, because I expected it to be overly hyped given that Amoruso is gorgeous and rich. I know, I know, I’m a hater like that.
Surprisingly, it IS great. The show brings on different ass-kicking women going after their dreams. Also, Amoruso is very laid back and discusses some of her insecurities. For example, having hairy nipples, coming off as dumb in interviews. I love her for it!
I recommend this podcast to any woman with ambition, looking for inspiration from other women.
I’ve told you guys about this podcast before in my post where I talked about feeling envious .
It’s a podcast about finding ways to be happier (hence the title). I have literally listened to every single episode and some more than once.
This podcast is hosted by Gretchen Rubin and her sister Elizabeth Craft. I really enjoy the dynamic of this duo. Despite being sisters, they are oh so different. I love Rubin’s dorky laugh (I mean that with love), and Craft’s nasally cool girl voice.
The tactics they present are simple, but often ones that I would not think of on my own. They inspire me so much to launch my own podcast one day. LOL
If you want quick, fun pick-me-ups I highly recommend you listen.
Do you have any podcasts that I left out? Please, let me know which ones you love. 🙂
Have a great day!
