Online Shopping Tips & Tricks

Hello beautiful loves,

How was your Thanksgiving weekend? Mine was A M A Z I N G!!!
It was my first time in 6 years not working Black Friday, and you better believe I slept in ’til 11. HA

I’m more of a #CyberMonday kind of girl, anyway. That is why I want to share with you my Tips & Tricks for Online Shopping! 😉

You would be surprised how many people tell me that they do not online shop. I can see what their hesitations are, but at the same time, there are so many advantages to doing so. If you are one of those people, follow this guide.

You will rest assured to have a good experience. 🙂

My first piece of advice is

I say this, because I consider saving money my number one driver to online shopping as opposed to enjoying instant gratification.

The easiest way to do so is by price comparing. Type the name of the item you want into the Google search bar, then click the “Shopping” tab. This page shows you the same item via different retailers to ensure you get the best deal!

You might also want to check out online coupons. Websites like Retail Me Not offer discount codes. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t, but its worth giving them a shot, because who doesn’t want to save money?

Sometimes the store’s app will offer coupons as well.

And the last way, I try to save money is by going to the direct retailer’s website to see what kind of offers they have for anyone who subscribes to their email list. will offer 10% off as will

Aldo is the most generous since they offer 15% off online or IN STORE when you sign up! 🙂

OH and make sure you have an email designated for your online shopping subscriptions. That way you don’t feel spammed, yet can check it when you feel like shopping hehe.

The next is vital for those of you who don’t trust buying things you haven’t seen in person or have tried on.

I check how much to return, how many days I have to do it, and how I will get refunded.

That way I don’t get stuck with something I do not like.

The biggest issue I have experienced is buying from websites that charge me to return…
So I stick to places that let me return FOR FREE and refund my money straight to my card.

Some sites will only refund store credit, but if you plan on buying from there again, it’s cool.

If you are ok with paying to ship the item(s) back make sure you aren’t buying from the U.K. or China HAHA. The shipping could be more than what you paid for the item.

Next is

This tip is honestly my favorite. Especially because a lot of girls tell me that they do not like buying items they haven’t tried on.

If you’re like me and have a shmedium type figure and can’t decide what to order, get both sizes!

I typically do this when I am buying a dress for an event and have little time to choose. For my graduation I seriously ordered 3 different dresses in more than one size to make sure I got the best look and feel. I had a try-on party at home and the next day returned like 5 dresses and kept the one I loved the most.

I usually use my credit card for transactions like these so I don’t feel like my bank account is suffering.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to fabrics. I’m not a brand wh**e, but I am a fabric wh**e. I love cottons and hate viscose. In photos they look the same, but the feel is completely different. If you know there’s fabrics you prefer over others, read the description to make sure you’re happy with your selection.

HA I love this piece of advice. What I mean is, I do not have the figure of a model… So I love to check out the company’s hashtag on Instagram to see what real life girls look like wearing whatever it is I am looking to buy. These photos are usually sans great lighting, editing and photoshop.

Sometimes I find girls with similar figures to mine that help me decide if the item will be a good fit. I can also see the true colors, fabrics and styles. Not to mention, it’s fun for styling ideas. 🙂

Youtube sometimes also helps with this.

What I mean by this is that I pay with my credit card a lot of the time, because I get reward points! I collect them and use them to cash in Sephora gift cards. I also hear Ebates does this. It’s a website that offers cash back for purchasing through their site. (I need to try it. Have you?)

I really hope these tips and tricks help you! If you have any more to add, please leave them as a comment. It’s shopping season so I know we could all use help.

Also, let me know what you want to see next. I’m dying to know! 🙂
