Life After Whole30

Hey loves!

By the time you read this I will be officially done with my Whole30!

I’m happy that’s it’s over, but to be honest I am also nervous.
For starters, I’m worried that if I eat a cheat meal, I will binge eat… and then I will gain all the weight back and then these 30 days will go to waste.

I know I shouldn’t have that mentality, but I’m sure this happens to a lot of people.

Instead of worrying about all of the negative thoughts, I am trying to think about what I will take away from this challenge.

Here are what I’m thinking will be great takeaways to continue to pursue:

Not having Starbucks everyday…

This was so hard at first, but now I am used to it. To help I taught myself how to make green tea matcha lattes.

Continue to look at the ingredients. I haven’t had many processed foods, and I’m loving it.

On Whole30 you can have all of the meats. Now that it’s over I am going to replace some meats with legumes. I stocked up on hummus, chickpeas and lentils already!

Whole30 doesn’t allow grains or dairy. I am going to bring a minimum amount of grains back but gluten free! As far as dairy goes, I want to keep it to a minimum.

To sum it up, I’m thinking of switching to a predominantly plant based diet. I’m not going vegan or vegetarian. However, I feel enlightened!

Some factors that have inspired me are:

The Fed Up Documentary.

This documentary goes more over the fact that we’ve been manipulated into being dairy and poultry feigns. I’ll do a review soon.

YouTube What I Eat in a Day videos. I’m especially loving the ones from Lisa Lorles and Simply Quinoa.

A fellow Houston blogger! Ms Priscilla Wellness. I love how easy and delicious Priscilla makes plant based eating look. Follow her blog here. She’s awesome!

I’m excited about this next phase! Also mainly because I HATE having restrictions haha I love to be freeeee.

    Thanks for posting all about the Whole30 plan. I am thinking about doing this diet too because I am addicted to sugar! I love reading your blog keep up the awesome work.

      You made my day, Katie. Thank you so much. I really recommend it. I stopped for a week and I felt like poop. I’m actually back on it today. hahah and this is after me ending the 30 days. Let me know how you like it and if you need help!!!

    Zayda! So excited that you completed this and I loved reading your reflections and thoughts on it. I think you’re going about it the right way when it comes to trying to eat more plant based foods but not eliminating or restricting the staples and proteins you still want to eat, like meat. The best way, IMO to stay on track and happy is to find your balance and what works for you. I am excited to see more food posts cos I love reading yours!
