Confident or Conceited?

Hi again my loves!

Today I want to talk to you about self-confidence and the art of accepting compliments.
I could honestly talk about this topic for H O U R S, but for today, I’ll keep it short.

You might have seen on my Instastory that I was talking about how so many of us have a hard time accepting compliments.

Someone says, “You look so pretty today.” You reply with “No no, I have a pimple. I look tired. I’m bloated.”

Or even something simple like handwriting. “You write so nice and neat. I love it!” You say,”Ew no way! I write so ugly.”

Why why why are so many women this way?

I think it boils down to two reasons:

1. The illusion that: you have to be “perfect” to be confident.

Whatever that means, anyway ^

2. You’re afraid to come off as conceited or condescending.

Well today I want to remind you that even though you might not like a few or many things about yourself, it’s still more than ok to be confident!

And no, you don’t come off as conceited for accepting a compliment! On the contrary, people give you compliments because they want you to receive them. If anything, it’s rude and a little bit annoying when you constantly negate the love. 😁

So if you are one of those people that has a hard time with this (trust me I still slip sometimes) start off with this simple exercise:

Just say “thank you”.

Nothing is sexier than a confident woman! Even if you are temporarily faking it… 😏

Not to mention it takes less time to ACCEPT a compliment than to negate one.

P.S.  You’re gorgeous!!!

Did I hear a “thank you”? 💖🙂

Loving this Zayda!! It’s all about self-love/worth. It can take some time for women to truly see what is there all along; beauty. I’m taking a women in society class and unfortunately majority of these magazines, social media, and televison depict their “version” of beauty. Which is tall, skinny, long silky hair, flawless poreless skin etc. I feel women dismiss compliments because their brain has this picture stuck of what perfection looks like. I myself have been there. Beauty is universal, let’s be proud! Thank you for sharing Zayda
